We no longer accept PayPal because they repeatedly messed us about freezing our account requesting pointless information they already have and offering zero support. We have now set in place a reliable mechanism that allows you to pay using a credit or debit card.
We did used to accept PayPal but have now changed our company policy due to several reasons. Firstly PayPal has frozen my accounts on the grounds that I'm in violation of Australian law by selling products made in Iran...well how come I have express written permission from both Australian Customs and Quarantine for importing the very same goods, something I've been doing for the last 3 years. PayPal has now indefinitely suspended my account and are holding on to my hard earned money for up to 180 days.
I sell sports (Persian Yoga) related training equipment to customers internationally and I have a happy clientèle who appreciate that I source for them the best, authentic, original and traditionally hand made training equipment from Iran.
And I love being able to do so. I'm also very proud to say that I have 100% customer satisfaction from the feedback I have received.
I (kinda) understand the nature of national policies and the political relations between USA and Iran...However I believe in the American and Australian, nay the universal, notions of equanimity and the love of freedom.
I try to live my life according to this truth and I figured that partnering with PayPal will help me stay closer to this truth and enable me to reach more people because people who don't know me can put their trust in PayPal.
I don't represent a despotic regime or a skewed ideology. I represent an ancient art of strength and brotherhood that teaches honesty and the love of freedom, and also teaches a way to strength and valor to live according to these values.
In the process of following my conviction and passion I am sharing my cultural heritage and building bridges between cultures resulting in lasting friendships which will lead to greater peace and harmony. That's what the world needs.
I'm doing my best...but this has no value to PayPal and they don't understand that sports equipment are not equivalent to a nuclear arms program.
Secondly PayPal is a very expensive, both in terms of money and time, method of accepting payment and also in my experience totally unreliable.
PayPal has no regard for its business customers and no respect or support is available. When operating a business, you expect a payment solution to be 100% reliable and free from interruption at all times. A solution that you can rely on when there is a problem and has friendly support staff that you can talk to etc.
PayPal have a habit of freezing the accounts of honest people at anytime for any reason without notice. This is also in their terms of service, THEY CAN LIMIT YOUR ACCOUNT AT ANYTIME WITHOUT NOTICE AND FOR ANY REASON. This is not suitable for any serious online business and can cause disruption, distrust and other issues between a company and their customers.
So for the reasons outlined above I give the finger to PayPal and hope you will too.
